==History==
Broomfield Football Club was established in 1905 as a single men's senior team for the village. It wasn't until 74 years later in 1979 that Broomfield Youth was formed when the 1st Broomfield Scouts teamed up with the senior team to create a new youth section for players aged 8 to 16. It was then decided that a social clubhouse was needed for the fast growing football club to continue its expansion. The club purchased an ex military medical building from Colchester barracks and it was transported to the current site in Angel Park. Broomfield Football & Social Club was born. At this point there was still only 1 senior team and 1 junior team. The following year in 1980 the club established an annual exchange with German football club Sparta Werlte who are based in Werlte, Lower Saxony. This exchange has continued ever since with English players & families being hosted by German families in Werlte, and German players & families being hosted by English families in Broomfield. Running continuously for over 30 years this partnership is unique among our fellow Essex clubs. Today the club has 4 senior teams and 14 youth teams made up by over 70 adults and 200 local children. The social side of the club is very successful hosting regular events such as the: Summer Fun Day, New Years Eve and various other events to raise money for the club and increase community participation. An arson attack on the club house in May 2014 gutted the building. The club has received assistance from The FA and plans are afoot for a brand new club house to be built in the near future.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Latest on the Fire )
